Hi folks,

You probably have noticed that two of the new botanical projects for the October 24 - 26 are now up on the site.

There is a funny story behind it. I got the September and October seminars mixed up in my mind - seems that more is broken besides my wrist!!!

When I was half way through the third botanical, I decided to check the dates and realized my mistake. My goodness, with HOOT just around the corner I was almost in a panic.I started the Jacobean project at home, took it to HOOT to work on in the evenings and finished it at home when I returned.

As most paintings do, it took on a life of its own and has developed into what I think is the best Jacobean design I have done. I did it on a beautiful mirror from Coyote Woodworks. All the panels and oval frame around the mirror are removable and so very easy to paint on. They fit into the mirror base - which I haven’t finished yet. But I intend to have it look like mahogany or leather with some simple gold scrollwork. I have a table that my father made and will use it for inspiration.

I am sending it to you now, and do hope that you are looking forward to painting it with me on September 26 to 28.

visit the seminars section of my web site for more detailed pics!
After my August 22 - 24 seminar I will get to work on the Acanthus Leafy Scrolls project that is also taught with the Jacobean project. I know exactly what I plan to do and will send that project out for you to see next week.

I am so looking forward to painting with many of you in my upcoming home studio seminars and encourage you to call or e-mail Mary to see if we have openings for those of you who haven’t registered yet.

In November I start my travel teaching and perhaps I’ll be coming to your area:

Thanks again to all of you have sent me such thoughtful and caring get well wishes.

I have learned how to many things without my left hand, but my goodness I sure am looking forward to getting it back soon. There will be a great deal of physiotherapy to do, and I am actually looking forward to it, knowing all of you are behind me with your support.

I’ll be in touch again soon, when the second September 26 - 28 project is finished.
